Rawalpindi police have registered a case against suspects allegedly involved in a dangerous one-wheeling incident featuring a woman after footage of the activity went viral on social media.
The incident has drawn the attention of traffic authorities, who have directed officials to identify those involved and take legal action over the risky activity on public roads.
Traffic Chief Orders Immediate Action
According to traffic police, the Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) took notice of the viral video and ordered action against the individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
The case was registered following a complaint submitted by the In-charge Traffic (Cantonment), officials said. Police are now working to establish the identities of the suspects and determine their involvement in the incident.
Authorities have also begun using Safe City surveillance cameras to help identify the individuals seen in the footage.
The use of surveillance technology is intended to assist investigators in tracing those involved and supporting further legal proceedings.
Police Warn Against Dangerous One-Wheeling
The Rawalpindi CTO warned that one-wheeling poses a serious threat to the lives of riders, passengers and other road users.
One-wheeling involves riding a motorcycle on its rear wheel, often at speed or in a manner that reduces the rider’s control over the vehicle. The activity can lead to serious accidents, particularly when performed on busy roads or in the presence of other traffic.
Traffic police have reiterated that dangerous stunts on public roads will not be tolerated and that action will continue against individuals involved in such activities.
Officials have urged motorcyclists to follow traffic rules, avoid reckless stunts and prioritise public safety.
Lahore Traffic Police Also Target Reckless Driving
Meanwhile, Lahore Traffic Police has also urged citizens to report dangerous driving, drifting and other reckless activities shared on social media.
According to the report, Lahore traffic authorities have encouraged members of the public to record and report incidents involving unsafe driving practices so that officials can identify those responsible.
Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer has warned that individuals found involved in such behaviour could face legal action, including arrest.
The measures reflect a wider effort by traffic authorities to use public reports and available surveillance footage to address dangerous driving and improve road safety.
Public Urged to Report Traffic Violations
The Rawalpindi incident highlights the role social media footage can play in bringing potentially dangerous road behaviour to the attention of law enforcement agencies.
However, authorities must establish the facts and identify those involved through proper investigation before determining individual responsibility.
Citizens are encouraged to report reckless driving through appropriate official channels rather than putting themselves at risk to record incidents.
Traffic police continue to stress that one-wheeling, drifting and other dangerous stunts can endanger not only the people performing them but also pedestrians, passengers and other motorists.
The investigation into the Rawalpindi incident is ongoing, and police are using Safe City cameras to identify the suspects.
