The Punjab Govt has approved a major healthcare development plan for district Sargodha. The project includes the reconstruction of four Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospitals. A total of Rs 1.25 billion has been released for this purpose.
The decision was made after strong efforts and coordination by Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry. The initiative aims to improve public healthcare services in the region.
According to an official statement, the Department of Health and Population Welfare Punjab has issued a formal notification. This confirms the approval and release of funds for the reconstruction work.
The hospitals included in the project are THQ Hospital 90 North, THQ Hospital 46 South, THQ Hospital Bhagtanwala, and THQ Hospital Sahiwal. These facilities will undergo full reconstruction and upgradation.
Officials said the Punjab Govt took notice of the poor condition of these hospitals. They also highlighted shortages of basic medical facilities during field visits by the Deputy Commissioner.
After reviewing the situation, the Deputy Commissioner recommended special funds to the provincial government. The proposal was accepted, leading to the approval of the reconstruction plan.
The Punjab Govt stated that improving healthcare infrastructure is a top priority. The aim is to ensure better medical services for citizens at their local level.
Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry said that the upgrade will improve access to quality healthcare. He added that people will no longer need to travel long distances for basic treatment.
He also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Secretary Health and Population Welfare Nadia Saqib for their support. He said their leadership helped make the project possible.
The Punjab Govt is focusing on strengthening the healthcare system across the province. Officials said practical steps are being taken for public welfare and better service delivery.
Authorities believe the reconstruction of these hospitals will bring positive results. It is expected to improve patient care, reduce overcrowding, and upgrade medical facilities.
The project is part of wider efforts by the Punjab Govt to modernize public hospitals. Officials said more development projects are also under consideration for other districts.
