PSL 9: Quetta Gladiators Vs Islamabad United Today

In the ongoing ninth season of the Pakistan Super League, Quetta Gladiators are set to compete against Islamabad United at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium in the eighth match on Thursday.

Under the leadership of Rossow, Quetta commenced their PSL9 campaign positively, securing victories in both of their initial matches. In their first encounter, the Purple Force posted a formidable score of 206 runs and effectively defended it, triumphing over Babar Azam’s Zalmi by 16 runs. Gladiators also achieved a historic win against the in-form Lahore Qalandars, marking their first-ever victory over the Afridi-led squad in the history of the flagship cricket league.

The team’s batting prowess is anchored by power hitters Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel, while emerging talent Khawaja Nafay, along with Mohammed Amir, Akeal Hossein, Waseem Jr., and Mohammad Hasnain, have also exhibited exceptional performances.

On the other hand, Islamabad United secured victory in their opening match but faced defeat in the subsequent game out of the two played so far. They initially triumphed over defending champions Qalandars but were unsuccessful against Multan Sultans.

Despite the setback, United displayed resilience in their second game, successfully chasing down a 145-run target on the penultimate ball. In their third match, Islamabad United is eager for a robust comeback against Quetta Gladiators.

The Gaddafi Stadium pitch continues to favor batsmen, providing ease for power hitters to accumulate substantial runs, while bowlers grapple with the challenging conditions.
