Dil Ka Rishta, one of Pakistan’s most popular online matrimonial platforms, is facing serious privacy and cybersecurity concerns after reports claimed that sensitive user data may have been exposed due to security flaws within the platform’s system.
According to multiple reports, Dil Ka Rishta may have suffered from a critical API vulnerability along with improperly configured cloud storage, potentially exposing personal information of more than 5,000 users. The alleged issue has raised fresh concerns regarding online privacy, user safety, and data protection in Pakistan’s rapidly growing digital matchmaking industry.
The platform, widely known for offering modern matchmaking services through mobile technology, reportedly exposed highly sensitive user details. The leaked information may have included names, phone numbers, dates of birth, marital status, educational background, profession details, income information, religious affiliation, caste data, and profile photographs.
Cybersecurity researchers believe the issue may have been linked to an Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) vulnerability. This type of flaw can allow unauthorized individuals to access private user profiles by manipulating profile identifiers within API requests.
Reports further suggest that Dil Ka Rishta’s backend system may have lacked proper authorization controls, enabling attackers to retrieve user records through sequential numeric IDs. Experts claim this weakness could have made automated extraction of user data significantly easier.
Adding to the concern, reports also mentioned that user profile images were allegedly stored in a cloud storage system without sufficient access restrictions. In such situations, files may become publicly accessible through direct links without requiring authentication.
Cybersecurity experts continue to warn that APIs remain one of the most vulnerable parts of modern digital applications. If not properly secured, they can unintentionally expose structured user information and create major privacy risks.
Dil Ka Rishta has gained massive popularity in Pakistan and among overseas Pakistani communities in countries including the UK, UAE, and Canada. The platform offers features such as AI-based matchmaking, verified profiles, advanced search filters, and secure communication tools.
So far, Dil Ka Rishta has not issued a detailed official statement regarding the alleged security concerns, while discussions around user privacy and digital safety continue to grow online.
