President Erdogan Urges Elon Musk To Consider Tesla Factory In Turkey

Turkey’s President, Tayyip Erdogan, recently urged Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, to consider the possibility of establishing a Tesla factory in Turkey. This request was conveyed via an announcement from Turkey’s communications directorate.

Musk noted that numerous Turkish suppliers already have business ties with Tesla, making Turkey a strong contender as the next potential location for a Tesla factory. However, Tesla has not yet issued an official response to this proposal.

This conversation between Erdogan and Musk took place during a meeting at Turkish House, a skyscraper located near the United Nations headquarters in New York. President Erdogan was in the United States to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During this meeting, Erdogan also expressed Turkey’s keen interest in collaborating on artificial intelligence projects and SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet initiative.

Furthermore, Musk expressed his interest in cooperating with Turkish authorities to secure the necessary licenses for offering Starlink satellite services in Turkey.
