Rupee Gains Against US Dollar
The Pakistani rupee closed at around Rs277.20 against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The rupee gained approximately one paisa against the dollar during the latest trading session.
According to the reported exchange-rate data, the rupee has continued to record gains against the US dollar since December 25, 2025.
Wednesday’s movement marked the 246th consecutive day on which the rupee closed higher against the US dollar.
The sustained movement has kept the local currency under close observation as traders and businesses monitor exchange-rate developments.

The pound’s continued decline against the rupee has raised attention around the possibility of the exchange rate moving closer to Rs365 per pound if the current trend continues.
However, future exchange rates remain subject to movements in international currency markets and changes in the value of the Pakistani rupee.
Euro Also Declines Against Rupee
The Pakistani rupee also strengthened against the euro during Wednesday’s session.

Rupee Performance Remains in Focus
The latest currency-market movement comes as the Pakistani rupee continues to record a prolonged period of gains against the US dollar.
While the dollar remained close to the Rs277 level, the rupee made more noticeable gains against several other currencies, particularly the British pound.
The pound’s move to Rs368.82 has placed the currency closer to the Rs365 level, although exchange rates can change from one trading session to another.
Businesses, importers, exporters and consumers continue to monitor these movements because changes in foreign exchange rates can influence the cost of imported goods, international payments and overseas transactions.
For now, Wednesday’s data shows another session of gains for the Pakistani rupee against several major currencies, with the British pound among those recording the largest decline.
