The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its positive trend against the US dollar on Thursday. The currency recorded its 252nd consecutive daily gain.
The PKR closed at 277.10 against the US dollar. It gained one paisa during Thursday’s trading session.
The rupee has maintained its upward movement against the dollar since December 25, 2025. The latest gain extends a streak that has now continued for more than eight months.
The currency has remained close to the 277 level in recent sessions. The latest closing rate was recorded at 277.1022 in the provided exchange rate data.
Based on its recent performance, the rupee could move further against the dollar. However, future exchange rates will depend on market conditions and other economic factors.
Rupee Gains Against Major Currencies
The PKR also strengthened against several other major currencies during Thursday’s session.
The rupee gained Rs. 1.51 against the British pound. It also strengthened by 99 paisas against the Australian dollar.
Against the euro, the currency gained Rs. 1.80. The PKR also improved by 91 paisas against the Canadian dollar.
The gains were recorded across several major international currencies. These movements contributed to the rupee’s broader performance during the trading session.
The Pakistani currency also strengthened slightly against the Malaysian ringgit. It gained around nine paisas against the Malaysian currency.
Against the Chinese yuan, the rupee posted a smaller gain. The change stood at less than one paisa.
PKR Remains Stable Against Gulf Currencies
The PKR remained broadly stable against the UAE dirham and Saudi riyal.
The exchange rate for the UAE dirham stood at around Rs. 75.45. The Saudi riyal was trading near Rs. 73.80.
Both currencies recorded only minor movements during the session. Their rates remained largely unchanged compared with the previous trading day.
The stability against these currencies comes as the rupee continues its extended positive trend.

The US dollar was recorded at 277.1022 on October 1. The euro stood at 312.8346, while the British pound was recorded at 366.3153.
The Australian dollar closed at 192.3090. The Canadian dollar stood at 194.5191.
The Malaysian ringgit was recorded at 67.8258. The Chinese yuan stood at 41.3305.
The UAE dirham was recorded at 75.4492. Meanwhile, the Saudi riyal stood at 73.7995.
The latest figures show continued movement in the foreign exchange market. The PKR has maintained its extended winning streak against the dollar since December 2025.
