The Pakistani rupee continued its positive run against the US dollar on Tuesday. The PKR closed higher for the 250th consecutive trading day.
The rupee settled at 277.12 against the US dollar. It gained three paisas during the latest trading session.
This marks another improvement in the local currency’s extended run. The PKR has reported consistent gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
The latest movement has kept the rupee close to the 277 level. At its current pace, market expectations point toward a possible move into the 276 range in October 2026.
However, future currency movements will depend on market conditions. Changes in foreign exchange demand and supply can also influence the exchange rate.
PKR Gains Against Major International Currencies
The Pakistani rupee also strengthened against several other major currencies during Tuesday’s session.
The rupee gained 95 paisas against the British pound. It also increased by 93 paisas against the Australian dollar.
Against the euro, the PKR gained Rs. 1.18. It also improved by 56 paisas against the Canadian dollar.
The rupee remained broadly stable against the UAE dirham. It gained two paisas against the Saudi riyal.
The latest currency rates showed continued movement across major international currencies. The changes were particularly notable against the euro and British pound.
Dollar Rate Remains Near Rs. 277
The US dollar closed at approximately Rs. 277.12 during the latest session. The rate has gradually moved lower over recent trading sessions.
The dollar was recorded at Rs. 277.1537 on September 28. It stood at Rs. 277.1618 on September 25.
These movements show a gradual strengthening of the Pakistani currency. The PKR has maintained its positive trend despite daily fluctuations in the foreign exchange market.
The State Bank of Pakistan also publishes daily exchange rate data. Its recent figures placed the rupee near the Rs. 277 level against the dollar.
Rupee Records Another Day of Gains
The latest increase extends the rupee’s long period of gains against the US dollar. The 250-day streak represents a sustained period of improvement in the exchange rate.
On the previous trading day, the rupee also gained against the dollar. It closed at around Rs. 277.15 on September 28.
The continued improvement has kept attention on the currency market. Traders and businesses closely monitor exchange rates because they affect imports, exports, and international payments.
For consumers, currency movements can also influence the cost of imported products. However, the impact varies across different goods and market conditions.
