Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started interviews for shortlisted candidates applying for air hostess positions at its Karachi base. The recruitment process is currently underway at a local hotel, where candidates are being assessed for cabin crew positions.
According to reports, PIA Chief Human Resources Officer Athar Hussain is overseeing the interview session. The latest interviews follow the completion of the recruitment process for air hostesses assigned to the airline’s Lahore and Islamabad bases.
The recruitment drive is part of PIA’s efforts to hire female cabin crew members for its Karachi operations. Candidates who were shortlisted after submitting their applications have been called for interviews.
PIA Air Hostess Jobs 2026: Eligibility Criteria
PIA announced the recruitment drive for air hostesses at its Karachi base in early October. The airline invited female candidates aged between 20 and 28 to apply for cabin crew positions.
Applicants were required to have at least a bachelor’s degree to qualify for the advertised posts. Interested candidates were asked to submit their resumes and applications online through the official PIA recruitment portal.
According to the airline’s announcement, the deadline for submitting online applications was October 7, 2026.
With interviews now underway, the recruitment process has moved to the candidate assessment stage. Applicants should follow official PIA communications for any further updates regarding selection and appointment.
PIA Completes Interviews for Lahore and Islamabad Bases
Before starting interviews for Karachi-based positions, PIA completed the interview process for air hostess vacancies at its Lahore and Islamabad bases.
The recruitment process for the three bases is aimed at selecting suitable candidates for the airline’s cabin crew operations. However, details about the total number of vacancies and the final selection timeline have not been provided in the available information.
PIA Tightens Rules for Air Hostesses During Flight Duty
Separately, PIA has introduced stricter rules regarding the possession of cigarettes and other tobacco products by cabin crew members.
Under a circular issued by the airline, air hostesses are allowed to possess only one packet of cigarettes, containing a maximum of 20 cigarettes, during flight duty. The circular warns that violations may lead to legal or disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from flight duties.
The restrictions follow an earlier directive issued in June that tightened rules on smoking and tobacco products among cabin crew members.
Under that policy, crew members were prohibited from carrying cigarettes, cigars and other tobacco products in their personal luggage. Smoking was also prohibited during flights, hotel stays and in public places while crew members were on duty.
PIA Warns Crew Members Against Policy Violations
PIA management has instructed cabin crew members to comply fully with the tobacco-related rules. Violations may result in suspension and disciplinary proceedings.
The airline’s restrictions form part of its efforts to enforce staff conduct policies during official duties. Crew members are expected to follow the rules throughout their assigned duties, including during flights and while staying at hotels.
Meanwhile, the interviews for Karachi-based air hostess positions mark the latest stage in PIA’s ongoing recruitment process. Candidates who applied before the October 7 deadline will have to complete the required selection stages to be considered for employment.
