Pakistan’s federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel under the latest daily fuel price revision. The new rates have been issued for the current pricing period, providing limited relief to consumers.
The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 2.20 per litre. After the latest adjustment, petrol will now cost Rs. 327.62 per litre. The reduction comes after several changes in fuel prices since the government introduced daily revisions.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced by Rs. 1.50 per litre. The new diesel price stands at Rs. 380.86 per litre. Diesel remains significantly more expensive compared with its rate before the introduction of daily pricing.
On Thursday, petrol was priced at Rs. 329.82 per litre after a reduction of Rs. 3.19 per litre. Diesel was priced at Rs. 382.36 per litre following a reduction of Rs. 1.50 per litre.
Fuel prices have changed frequently since daily revisions began in July. International oil prices and other market factors continue to influence the rates. The frequent changes have made petrol and diesel prices a major concern for motorists and businesses.
According to the available rate history, petrol has increased by Rs. 16.22 per litre since the beginning of daily fuel price updates. During the same period, diesel has recorded a much larger increase of Rs. 57.53 per litre.
The increase in diesel prices is particularly important for the transport and agriculture sectors. Diesel is widely used by commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, and agricultural machinery. Changes in diesel prices can also affect transportation costs and the prices of essential goods.
The latest reduction may offer some short-term relief to consumers. However, fuel prices remain sensitive to international market movements and other pricing factors. Consumers are expected to closely monitor upcoming revisions for further changes.
