Petrol Bomb Leads To Historic Price Of Petrol In Pakistan
In a late Thursday statement, the Finance Division announced an increase of Rs14.91 per litre for petrol and Rs18.44 per litre for high-speed diesel (HSD).
Not long ago, in mid-August, the interim government of Pakistan raised petroleum product prices by as much as Rs20 per litre. Petrol saw an increase of Rs17.50 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) surged by Rs20 per litre.
This development adds another layer of shock for individuals already grappling with inflation. The populace is experiencing the impact of higher food prices, given that fuel costs directly influence transportation and agriculture sectors. Any uptick will only serve to further burden the masses.
As of September 1, the current prices in Pakistan for petrol are at Rs305.36 per litre, and high-speed diesel is priced at Rs311.84 per litre.
