In a late Thursday statement, the Finance Division announced an increase of Rs14.91 per litre for petrol and Rs18.44 per litre for high-speed diesel (HSD).

Not long ago, in mid-August, the interim government of Pakistan raised petroleum product prices by as much as Rs20 per litre. Petrol saw an increase of Rs17.50 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) surged by Rs20 per litre.

As of September 1, the current prices in Pakistan for petrol are at Rs305.36 per litre, and high-speed diesel is priced at Rs311.84 per litre.
