Passport Renewal Applications to Be Processed Faster

Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed passport offices across Pakistan to process passport renewal applications on a priority basis to provide faster and more efficient services to citizens.

The instructions were issued during an online meeting with all zonal heads, where officials reviewed the overall performance of passport offices, public service delivery, and facilities available to applicants.

During the meeting, Randhawa instructed zonal heads to transform passport offices into model facilities by ensuring cleanliness, discipline, a better working environment, and the availability of essential services for visitors.

He also directed officials to maintain close coordination with the relevant Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) offices and intensify action against agents and touts operating around passport offices to ensure their complete elimination.

The meeting also reviewed efforts to promote the cashless passport fee payment system. Randhawa instructed authorities to display awareness videos about digital payment methods prominently at passport offices to help applicants understand the process.

In addition, he ordered passport offices to install banners and standees highlighting the passport home delivery service so more citizens can benefit from the facility.

Officials were further directed to immediately contact applicants who have not yet collected their passports and ensure timely delivery according to the prescribed procedures.

Reaffirming the department’s commitment to improving public services, the DG stressed that passport renewal applications should receive priority to ensure quicker, more organized, and citizen-friendly service across the country.
