Pakistan Set for Crucial Test Series Versus Bangladesh

The Pakistan national cricket team has stepped up preparations for the upcoming two-match Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team with an intensive training session at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium.

The first Test is scheduled to begin on May 8 and will continue until May 13. During the session, players focused on both batting and bowling in the nets under the guidance of the coaching staff. The squad also carried out fitness drills and fielding exercises to enhance overall performance and match readiness.

Meanwhile, top-order batter Babar Azam and fast bowler Khurram Shahzad are expected to join the national camp soon after their recent appearance in the Pakistan Super League Season 11 final.

Babar Azam recently led Peshawar Zalmi to their second PSL title, marking his first triumph as captain, after defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final held at Gaddafi Stadium.

The upcoming Test series forms part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle. The second and final Test will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from May 16 to May 20.

The team will continue to be led by Shan Masood. Four new players—Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori—have been included in the squad and could make their Test debuts.

Historically, Pakistan and Bangladesh have met 15 times in Test cricket. Pakistan holds a dominant record with 12 victories, while Bangladesh has won two matches, and one encounter ended in a draw.
