Peter Handscomb will captain the Victoria XI, featuring two additional Test players, Marcus Harris and Will Pucovski. The incorporation of this extra fixture aims to provide the Pakistani squad with valuable preparation and acclimatization ahead of the second Test.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan faced a significant defeat in the first Test, trailing by 360 runs, and Australia currently leads the three-match Test series 1-0.

Meanwhile, the national team is expected to arrive in Melbourne on December 19. Following a day of rest on the 20th, the players, known as the Green Shirts, will engage in a training session on Thursday.

The eagerly anticipated second Test, scheduled as a Boxing Day Test match, is set to kick off on December 26.
