Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have signed the historic Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, marking a significant milestone in regional security and strategic cooperation among the three countries. Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed the development on Friday, describing the agreement as a landmark achievement that was signed within the sacred boundaries of the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.
According to the Foreign Office, the agreement was finalized during the Joint Defence Summit held at Al Safa Palace in Makkah. The high-level summit brought together Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting the importance all three nations attach to strengthening their defence partnership.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said the agreement, officially named the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, establishes a new framework for defence collaboration and collective security among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
