Pakistan Railways Chief Executive Officer (CEO) M. Hafeez Ullah Khan visited Lahore Railway Station on Wednesday. He reviewed passenger facilities, cleanliness and ongoing improvement work.
During the visit, Khan inspected several areas of the station. He also reviewed the condition of facilities used by passengers daily.
The CEO visited the Lahore Reservation Office and directed officials to improve its facilities. He stressed the need for a better environment for passengers.
Khan said the reservation office should offer greater comfort and efficiency. He also instructed the relevant staff to complete necessary improvements.
The CEO later inspected the VIP lounges and family lounges at the station. He also visited family halls and waiting areas on platforms 2 and 4.
During the inspection, Khan checked the availability of cold drinking water. He directed officials to ensure passengers have access to better facilities.
The visit also included direct interaction with passengers. Khan listened to their complaints, concerns and suggestions about railway services.
He instructed railway officials to respond to public complaints promptly. He also called for improvements to the overall passenger experience.
The CEO then visited the parcel office and warehouse at Lahore Railway Station. He reviewed the handling process for incoming and outgoing goods.
Khan examined how parcels are received, stored and dispatched. He also issued instructions to officials responsible for these operations.
The visit followed an earlier inspection of Lahore Railway Station. During that visit, Khan was accompanied by Lahore Divisional Superintendent Railways Inam Ullah.
The CEO had previously decided to extend two platforms at the station. The planned work aims to make passenger movement easier.
Platform extensions are also expected to support smoother railway operations. The decision is part of efforts to improve station facilities.
Pakistan Railways has been focusing on better services and improved passenger facilities. The latest inspection highlighted several areas requiring attention.
Khan said passenger safety and comfort would remain key priorities. He also emphasized the need to provide quality travel facilities.
