In an exciting face-off during the men’s team squash event at the Asian Games, Pakistan triumphed over rival India with a 2-1 victory, earning a spot in the semi-finals.

Pakistan’s team displayed remarkable skills, with standout performances from Nasir Iqbal and Noor Zaman contributing to this crucial win.

The initial match featured a grueling showdown between Noor Zaman of Pakistan and India’s Abhay Singh. Noor Zaman’s determination and resilience led to victory in a tough 51-minute battle, resulting in an 8-11, 12-10, 8-11, 8-11 score in favor of Noor Zaman.

In the second game, Pakistan’s Asim Khan faced India’s Saurav Ghosal, showcasing exceptional skills and winning with a clean sweep at 3-0.

With one win each for Pakistan and India, the match hung in the balance. The tiebreaker match witnessed Nasir Iqbal from Pakistan facing off against India’s Mahesh Mangoankar. Nasir Iqbal’s composure and skill secured the decisive victory for Pakistan after a hard-fought 58-minute contest, with a final score of 6-11, 11-13, 11-9, and 8-11.

Prior to this pivotal win against India, Pakistan had also convincingly defeated Singapore, Nepal, and Qatar, underscoring their dominance in the tournament. Their next challenge awaits as they go up against Kuwait in the final group match on Thursday. Pakistan aims to maintain their winning streak and continue their quest for the gold medal in the Asian Games Men’s Team Squash competition.
