Pakistani students can apply for fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarships at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom for the 2027 academic intake. The scholarships are being offered through the Martingale Foundation and cover selected postgraduate programs in mathematics, artificial intelligence, computer science and related fields.
Pakistan is included among the eligible countries for the scholarship. The deadline to apply for the Martingale Foundation scholarship is October 18, 2026, while selected Oxford programs are expected to begin in September 2027.
The scholarships are designed to support students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds who want to pursue advanced studies in mathematical sciences, artificial intelligence and computer science. Applicants must also meet the admission requirements of their selected Oxford program.
The funding package includes full tuition fee coverage, support for eligible research expenses and a tax-free living stipend based on the Living Wage Foundation. Selected scholars may also receive university application support, professional development opportunities, leadership training and access to academic and industry networks.
For Master’s students, the scholarship supports selected programs including the MSc in Mathematical Sciences, MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics and MSc in Advanced Computer Science.
The scholarship also covers selected doctoral programs at Oxford. These include the DPhil in Mathematics, DPhil in Autonomous Intelligent Machines and Systems and DPhil in Computer Science. These programs allow students to undertake advanced research under academic supervision in their respective fields.
Applicants should generally have a GPA of at least 3.0, although academic requirements can vary depending on the Oxford course. Students are advised to check the specific requirements of their selected program before applying.
English language requirements may also apply. The listed minimum scores include 7.5 in IELTS, 110 in TOEFL iBT or 191 in C1 Advanced, where an English language test is required.
Applicants should prepare their academic transcripts, previous degree documents, an essay, two recommendation letters and English language test results where applicable.
The application process involves two stages. Candidates first apply to the Martingale Foundation and those who complete this stage become Martingale Qualified Candidates. They must then submit a separate application to an eligible postgraduate program at the University of Oxford.
For PhD scholarships, participating universities select recipients from the pool of qualified candidates. For Master’s scholarships, available funding places are allocated through the Martingale Foundation’s selection process.
