Who Can Apply
The scholarship is aimed at students from South Asian countries with majority Muslim populations who may face financial barriers to graduate education. Pakistani students are eligible to apply.
NYU gives preference to female applicants. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate strong academic potential and interests related to the scholarship’s focus, particularly issues involving women and gender in the Near East, Middle East and South Asia.
The scholarship is especially suitable for students whose academic interests connect with the history, societies and contemporary issues of these regions.
Academic and Admission Requirements
Applicants must apply for admission to NYU’s Graduate School of Arts and Science for the Fall 2027 intake. General graduate admission requirements include academic transcripts, a personal or academic statement, a résumé or CV and letters of recommendation.
