NADRA has made it easier for parents in Pakistan to register their child’s birth through the Pak ID mobile application. The digital facility allows applicants to complete much of the process from home without repeated visits to local registration offices.
The service is available under the Provincial Civil Registration Services section of the Pak ID app. It connects applicants with the relevant Union Council, Municipal Committee, Town Committee, or participating local registration authority.
Parents can use the application to enter the child’s details, provide family information, check the applicable fee, and submit their request. However, final registration remains subject to verification and the rules of the relevant local authority.
How to Register a Child’s Birth Through the Pak ID App
Parents must first download the official Pak ID application on an Android or iOS smartphone. New users need to create an account, while existing users can log in with their registered credentials.
After logging in, applicants should open the Provincial Civil Registration Services section. They must select their province and choose the birth registration option.
The application may display children already linked to the applicant’s family record. If the child is missing, parents can select the option indicating that the child is not listed.
Select the Relevant Local Registration Authority
Applicants must provide the required location details to identify the relevant registration office. These may include the district, tehsil, and Union Council or another applicable local authority.
Parents must also select the appropriate application category and enter the child’s date of birth. The information helps direct the request to the authority responsible for processing it.
Check the Fee and Enter the Required Details
The app includes a fee calculation option that allows applicants to check the amount payable before starting the application. Charges may vary according to provincial rules, registration type, and other applicable conditions.
After checking the fee, parents can proceed with the application. They must enter the child’s information and provide the required details about both parents.
If the child’s information is already available in NADRA’s records, applicants may be able to retrieve it using the relevant identification details. Otherwise, they can enter the requested information manually.
Parents should carefully review all information to avoid errors that could delay processing.
Photograph and Biometric Requirements
The application may require a photograph or biometric information, depending on the child’s age and application type. Parents should follow the instructions displayed on their screens.
For children below three years, fingerprints are not required under the described process. Children aged three to under 10 may need a photograph, while older children may also be asked to provide fingerprints.
Applicants should complete every required step before moving forward. Photograph and biometric requirements can differ according to the applicable registration rules.
Pay Online and Submit the Application
Once the required details are complete, parents must select the address to appear on the birth certificate. They should verify the permanent or current address shown in the application.
The payment section supports several digital payment methods, subject to availability. These include credit and debit cards, Raast, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and e-Sahulat.
Before submission, applicants should review the child’s name, date of birth, parents’ information, and address. They must then accept the required acknowledgements and submit the application.
A confirmation message should appear after successful submission.
How to Download the Birth Certificate
After submission, the relevant local registration authority processes the request under applicable rules. Processing time and requirements may vary by province and registration authority.
Once the registration is completed and the certificate becomes available, parents can return to the Applications section of the Pak ID app. They can open the relevant application and use the download option.
According to the described process, the certificate can then be accessed through the user’s ID Vault.

Parents should remember that online submission does not necessarily mean immediate approval. They should follow the official app’s instructions and check any additional requirements specified by their local registration authority.
