Multan Sultans Defeat Karachi Kings In PSL 9

Multan Sultans secured a dominant victory over Karachi Kings in the third match of the PSL at Multan Cricket Stadium, winning by 55 runs. The Kings won the toss and opted to field. Despite an early setback with the loss of captain Muhammad Rizwan at 17/1, Multan’s foreign batsmen turned the game around.

Reeza Hendricks played a stellar innings, remaining unbeaten with a score of 79 off 54 balls. The South African batsman hit 3 sixes and 7 fours in his impressive knock, forming a solid partnership of 121 runs with Dawid Malan, who also contributed with a steady half-century, marking his 4th fifty in the PSL.

Hendricks, along with pinch hitter Khushdil Shah, propelled Multan Sultans to a formidable total of 206-5 by the end of the first innings.

Karachi Kings’ bowler Mir Hamza stood out, finishing his spell with figures of 1-30 and an economy rate of 7.5, preventing the Sultans from crossing the 200-run mark.

In the second innings, David Willey made an impact with the new ball, dismissing Saad and James Vince in consecutive deliveries. Although he missed a hattrick, Shoaib Malik resisted defiantly.

Karachi captain Shan Masood formed a 50-run partnership with the experienced Malik but lost his wicket at a crucial moment to Karachi’s leg-spinner Usama Mir.

Shoaib Malik, displaying his experience, fought valiantly, scoring 53 off 35 balls before getting out to Abbas Afridi at point.

Reeza Hendricks was named the man of the match for his explosive innings of 79 runs.
