Multan Sets Up Temporary Cattle Markets Across City

The district administration in Multan has approved five temporary cattle sale points ahead of Eid ul Adha to facilitate citizens and livestock traders during the upcoming festive season. The decision was announced through an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Nauman Siddique.

According to the notification, official cattle markets will be established in areas including Fatima Jinnah Town, Jaiswant Garh, Shujaabad, and Jalalpur Pirwala. Authorities have also approved separate cattle and camel sale points at Jaiswant Garh to better manage livestock movement and public convenience.

In Shujaabad, the temporary cattle market will operate near the Saleem Shah Petroleum Centre. Meanwhile, in Jalalpur Pirwala, the market has been approved on Multan Road opposite the Virtual University of Pakistan campus. Officials believe the selected locations will help reduce traffic congestion and improve accessibility for buyers and sellers.

The deputy commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure strict arrangements for cleanliness, security, traffic control, and public facilities at the approved markets. Authorities have been instructed to provide clean drinking water, lighting systems, drainage facilities, and proper sanitation measures to ensure a smooth experience for visitors and livestock traders throughout the Eid season.

The district administration has also announced a crackdown against illegal cattle markets and unauthorized livestock sale points operating across the district. Assistant commissioners, officials from the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority, and other enforcement departments have been directed to take immediate action against violations and unauthorized setups.

Deputy Commissioner Nauman Siddique stated that providing organized, secure, and properly managed cattle markets remains the administration’s top priority before Eid ul Adha. He added that all departments would remain active to ensure better facilities and maintain law and order during the busy livestock trading period.
