Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has formally launched the Green Bus Project in Attock, introducing a new public transport facility aimed at making daily travel easier and more affordable for residents. The service is expected to provide particular relief to students who travel regularly to colleges and universities.
During her visit to Attock, Maryam Nawaz inspected an electric bus and reviewed the newly launched transport service. According to the details, 15 buses are now operating across three different routes in the city.
The project is part of the Punjab government’s efforts to improve public transportation and provide residents with better commuting facilities. By introducing additional buses, the government aims to make travel more convenient for people who depend on public transport for their daily activities.
Green Bus Service Completely Free for Students
One of the major announcements made by Maryam Nawaz during the launch was that the Green Bus service would be completely free for students.
She said the facility would allow students to travel to their colleges and universities and return home without worrying about transportation expenses.
The decision is expected to provide financial relief to students and their families, particularly those who regularly spend money on public transport. Free transportation could also make it easier for students living farther away from educational institutions to manage their daily commute.
With rising household expenses, transportation costs can become an additional burden for families. The free service is intended to reduce this pressure and improve access to educational facilities.
15 Buses Operating on Three Routes
According to the announced details, 15 buses are currently operating on three routes across Attock city.
The routes connect different residential areas with important destinations, including educational institutions. This arrangement is intended to help students and other commuters travel between their homes and daily destinations more easily.
The introduction of electric buses also reflects the Punjab government’s efforts to expand modern public transport facilities. These buses will provide another commuting option for residents who previously depended on private vehicles or other forms of local transportation.
Public Transport Facilities to Improve in Attock
The Green Bus Project is expected to benefit students and other residents who travel within Attock regularly. The availability of 15 buses across three routes will provide additional transport options and may help reduce the difficulties associated with daily commuting.
For students, the biggest benefit is the removal of travel fares. They will be able to use the service without paying for their daily journeys, making transportation more affordable.
The launch also highlights the provincial government’s wider focus on improving public transport services in Punjab. The project aims to make commuting easier while providing residents with more accessible transportation facilities.
With the service now operational, residents will be able to benefit from the new transport network across Attock.
