On Tuesday, the esteemed maestro and classical vocalist, Ustad Rashid Khan, passed away at the age of 55.
His demise creates a significant void in the realm of classical music. Ustad Rashid Khan, hailing from the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, was the great-grandson of the gharana’s founder, Inayat Hussain Khan, and was married to Soma Khan.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he received the Padma Shri and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2006.
