Lahore Student Completes 1,100km Endurance Run to Skardu

A Lahore student from Government College University (GCU) Lahore has completed a 1,100-kilometer endurance run to Skardu. Faizan Ahmed finished the challenging journey after spending 22 days on the road.

Faizan completed the run on Thursday, September 17, 2026. He traveled through several regions of Pakistan, covering difficult terrain and mountainous routes.

The Lahore student is also a member of Falcon Triathlon Club (FTC). His long-distance journey began in Lahore and ended in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan.

During the challenge, Faizan crossed the plains of Punjab before entering the mountainous areas. His route included locations across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The journey took him through areas near Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad. He also passed through Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas, and Raikot.

These areas presented different physical challenges during the endurance run. Faizan faced steep climbs, changing weather conditions, and difficult road terrain.

The 22-day journey required sustained physical effort over a long distance. It also connected central Punjab with the mountainous northern regions of Pakistan.

However, the Lahore student’s challenge was not limited to personal athletic achievement. Faizan dedicated the run to Pakistan’s Armed Forces and police martyrs.

Through this dedication, he paid tribute to individuals who lost their lives serving the country. The journey therefore carried both a sporting and social message.

Faizan also used his endurance run to raise awareness about drug abuse. His campaign focused particularly on young people and the risks associated with drug use.

During his journey, he interacted with communities along the route. He highlighted the importance of healthier activities and encouraged young people to make positive choices.

The initiative aimed to use endurance sports as a platform for public awareness. It also promoted responsibility and positive social change among communities.

The Lahore student’s achievement reflects the role of sports in spreading social messages. Long-distance athletic challenges can provide opportunities to connect with people across different regions.

Faizan’s run also highlights interest in endurance sports among young Pakistani athletes. Some athletes undertake demanding journeys for personal goals and broader social causes.

After 22 days of travel, Faizan reached Skardu on September 17. His arrival marked the completion of the Lahore-to-Skardu endurance challenge.

Falcon Triathlon Club congratulated Faizan Ahmed on completing the journey. The club also recognized his efforts to combine endurance sport with awareness and social responsibility.

The 1,100-kilometer run brought together athletic endurance, national tribute, and drug awareness. Faizan’s journey concluded after passing through challenging landscapes across northern Pakistan.
