Jordan Defeats Pakistan In World Cup Qualifier 2026

In the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers match held at the Jinnah Stadium of Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad, Jordan emerged victorious over Pakistan on Thursday.

The visiting team secured a 3-0 win, with Mousa Al Tamari, their standout player, netting two goals, while his teammate Ali Olwan contributed one goal to the scoreline.

Despite the defeat, Pakistan’s goalkeeper Yousaf Ijaz Butt received praise for his stellar performance, notably blocking several scoring opportunities, including a penalty.

Musa Al-Altmari of Jordan was recognized as the player of the match. Following this result, Jordan now occupies the third position in Group G of the Asian qualifiers with four points, while Pakistan has dropped to the bottom spot.

Pakistan will now journey to Jordan for the away fixture scheduled for March 26. To maintain their chances of qualifying for the World Cup, Pakistan must secure victories in their remaining three matches against Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Tajikistan.

The match marked Jordan’s return to Pakistan after an 18-year hiatus, with their last appearance in the country dating back to 2006.
