Joe Jonas Seeks Divorce From Sophie Turner After 4-Year Marriage

Joe Jonas has initiated divorce proceedings from Sophie Turner after four years of marriage.

The Jonas Brothers vocalist, aged 34, submitted the divorce paperwork in Miami on Tuesday, officially requesting the dissolution of his marriage to the 27-year-old actress. The filing cites the reason as “irretrievably broken.”

The divorce documents indicate that Jonas and Turner have a prenuptial agreement in place.

Representatives for the couple have not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment regarding the separation.

Joe Jonas and the former Game of Thrones star tied the knot in 2019 after dating for almost three years. The couple has two children together: Willa, who is three years old, and a second daughter, identified in the divorce papers as D., who is 14 months old.

This divorce filing comes shortly after it was reported that Joe Jonas had retained a divorce attorney, despite still wearing his wedding ring.

Sophie Turner once spoke about their relationship’s beginnings, sharing that they had mutual friends who had tried to introduce them for a while. However, they eventually connected when Joe Jonas direct messaged her on Instagram.

The couple’s romance blossomed quickly, and they officially started dating a few months later. Sophie Turner mentioned in an interview that Joe Jonas was “willing to settle down for her.”

After getting engaged in October 2017, they married in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony in May 2019 and followed it up with a formal celebration in France a month later.

Their first child, Willa, was born in July 2020, and they welcomed their second daughter in July 2022.

Joe Jonas has expressed his excitement and joy about fatherhood, stating that it’s an amazing part of life, and he’s looking forward to the future.
