A dispute over food involving Islamabad police officers deployed outside Serena Hotel has triggered an internal inquiry after an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) allegedly mistreated a constable who had approached him to collect a meal while performing special duty.
The incident has drawn attention to the treatment of junior personnel within the police force, prompting senior officials to seek details of the confrontation and determine whether any misconduct took place.
According to the complaint, the constable approached the ASI to collect food during his deployment. However, the senior officer allegedly behaved rudely toward him and refused to provide the meal.
The allegation has not yet been established, and the police department has initiated an inquiry to determine the facts.
DIG Security Takes Notice of Incident
Islamabad Police confirmed through its official account on X that the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security had taken notice of the complaint.
The DIG directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security to investigate the matter and establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged confrontation.
According to the department, a full inquiry is underway. Officials will review the complaint and determine whether the ASI violated departmental rules or engaged in inappropriate conduct toward the constable.
The inquiry is also expected to establish what happened during the exchange and whether the refusal to provide food was accompanied by any form of misconduct.
Departmental Action Depends on Inquiry Findings
Islamabad Police has stated that departmental action will follow the findings of the investigation, if warranted.
However, authorities have not announced any disciplinary decision against the ASI so far. The allegations remain under investigation, and the outcome will depend on the evidence gathered by the inquiry team.
The department’s response indicates that senior officials are seeking to establish the facts before deciding whether further action is necessary.
Such inquiries are intended to determine whether officers have complied with departmental procedures and maintained appropriate professional conduct while carrying out their duties.
Incident Raises Questions About Treatment of Junior Officers
The alleged dispute has also brought attention to the working conditions and treatment of police personnel assigned to special duties.
Officers deployed for security assignments may have to remain at designated locations for extended periods. Access to meals and other basic facilities can therefore be an important part of duty arrangements.
In this case, the complaint centres on an alleged refusal to provide food and the manner in which the constable was reportedly treated by a senior officer.
The investigation will need to establish the details of the duty arrangements, the nature of the interaction and whether any departmental rules were breached.
No further conclusions can be drawn until the inquiry is completed.
Police Await Findings Before Announcing Decision
Islamabad Police has not yet disclosed the final findings of the inquiry or announced a disciplinary outcome.
The SSP Security will investigate the allegations following the directions issued by the DIG Security. Any subsequent departmental action will depend on the findings and the evidence available to the authorities.
The case remains under investigation, with officials expected to determine whether the incident involved misconduct and what steps, if any, should be taken against those involved.
For now, the alleged dispute over a meal outside Serena Hotel remains an internal police matter, and the final decision will rest on the outcome of the inquiry.
