Without needless trips to government offices, citizens of Islamabad can now apply online for learner permits, renew driver’s licenses, and request duplicate licenses.
On the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, Islamabad Traffic Police implemented the facility. The project seeks to decrease the amount of time residents spend visiting government offices and increase accessibility to public services.
Residents can now use the Islamabad Traffic Police web portal to access a number of driving license services thanks to the new technology. Additionally, the agency provides assistance through its police facilitation centers and traffic headquarters.
Where Can Residents Apply?
According to Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan, the Islamabad Traffic Police web portal provides citizens with access to online services.
She claims that starting on Monday, October 19, 2026, the services will also be offered at the Traffic Headquarters in Faizabad and other police facilitation centers.
Learner permits, renewed driver’s licenses, and duplicate driver’s licenses are the three main services provided by the institution. The online alternative allows residents to expedite the application process and prevent needless travel.
Before submitting their requests, applicants should check the official portal for the pertinent application requirements, supporting documentation, and any related costs.
Driving Licences to Be Delivered at Home
One of the key features of the initiative is home delivery for renewed and duplicate driving licences.
Kainat Azhar Khan said the documents would be delivered to applicants through TCS courier services. This means eligible applicants will not need to visit government offices again simply to collect their renewed or duplicate licences.
The service is intended to save time, reduce inconvenience and make the process easier for residents who cannot easily travel to traffic police offices.
Important Instructions for Applicants
Islamabad Traffic Police has advised citizens to provide accurate information when applying online. Applicants should enter their complete names, correct residential addresses and active mobile phone numbers.
The chief traffic officer warned that incomplete or incorrect addresses could delay delivery. Residents should therefore double-check their details before submitting an application.
Applicants should also keep their contact information updated so that they can be reached if additional information is required during processing or delivery.
Focus on Convenient Public Services
The initiative is part of Islamabad Traffic Police’s efforts to modernise its services and improve public access to government facilities.
By moving key application processes online and introducing courier delivery, the department aims to reduce unnecessary office visits and make driving licence services more efficient.
For residents, the new facility offers a more convenient way to apply for learner permits, renew existing licences or request duplicates. Citizens should use the official Islamabad Traffic Police portal to access the services and confirm the latest application instructions.
