Right from the outset, the Indian players took command of the match, establishing an early 4-1 lead by breaking Aqeel’s serve in both the first and fifth games. Aqeel encountered two breakpoints in the first game, and in the fifth game, he lost serve again as his overhead flat smash exceeded the baseline. The Indian players concluded the game with a powerful shot, showcasing their dominance.

In the preceding matches on Saturday, the visitors secured victories in both Davis Cup singles matches against the hosts in Islamabad. This recent triumph marked New Delhi’s eighth consecutive victory in the highly anticipated World Cup of tennis event, propelling them to the coveted World Group I.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) made meticulous arrangements for the Indian players, ensuring a smooth and historic event in Islamabad. Stringent security measures were implemented to guarantee that the proceedings unfolded without any untoward incidents, underscoring the importance of a secure and well-managed sports event between the two neighboring nations.
