The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a major increase in salaries for university faculty members. The revised pay structure applies to teachers working under the Tenure Track System (TTS).
The new salary structure covers professors, associate professors, and assistant professors. The revised rates will apply to eligible faculty members across universities in Pakistan.
Under the updated structure, professors will receive a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 402,000. The maximum monthly salary for professors has been set at Rs. 712,000.
Associate professors will also receive higher salaries under the revised policy. Their monthly pay will range from Rs. 370,000 to Rs. 625,000.
Assistant professors will receive salaries ranging from Rs. 288,000 to Rs. 553,000. The applicable amount will depend on their position within the TTS salary structure.
The HEC has confirmed that the revised salary structure will take effect from July 1. Therefore, the increased rates will apply to salaries payable from that date.
The revised structure is expected to provide a higher compensation framework for eligible university teachers. It sets separate salary ranges according to faculty positions.
The policy applies specifically to faculty members working under the Tenure Track System. Teachers working under other university employment structures are not covered by these announced rates.
According to the commission, universities will be responsible for implementing the revised salary structure. Each institution will have to arrange the required funds for the increased payments.
The universities will pay the revised salaries from their own financial resources. This means institutions will need to manage the additional costs associated with the salary increase.
The announcement gives universities a clear salary framework for their TTS faculty members. It also establishes minimum and maximum monthly amounts for each academic position.
For professors, the difference between the minimum and maximum salary is Rs. 310,000. Associate professors have a salary range of Rs. 255,000.
Assistant professors have a salary range of Rs. 265,000 under the revised structure. These figures show the different pay levels available within the TTS system.
The latest decision by HEC provides updated compensation figures for eligible faculty members. Universities will be responsible for applying the revised rates from the specified effective date.
Faculty members can contact their respective universities for details about their applicable salary level. Institutions will also provide information about the implementation of the revised structure.
