Unverified gameplay footage and map images claiming to be from gta 6 have surfaced online ahead of Rockstar’s scheduled official presentation. While Rockstar has not confirmed the authenticity of the material, the company has reportedly issued DMCA takedown notices against leaked content.
The alleged footage reportedly features Jason, one of the game’s two protagonists, in everyday activities including playing basketball and dealing with a road-rage incident that attracts police attention.
One of the most notable claims is the possible return of a six-star wanted level. If accurate, this would bring back a system last seen in several older Grand Theft Auto titles, after GTA 5 capped wanted levels at five stars.
The leaked interface also appears to show police tracking details such as the player’s clothing, appearance and vehicle. This has sparked speculation that changing outfits or switching cars could become more important when attempting to evade law enforcement.
Another apparent feature is a stealth-detection indicator that may show how close police officers are to discovering Jason. A stamina meter also appears during combat, suggesting that fighting could involve additional resource management.
Perhaps one of the biggest surprises is an apparent vehicle fuel system. The footage reportedly shows fuel and engine-condition indicators, raising the possibility that players may eventually need to refuel vehicles. Cars may also feature storage and loadout systems for carrying equipment.
The footage also appears to show Jason playing basketball through a timing-based minigame. Successful shots reportedly increase a statistic called “Focus,” although its exact purpose remains unclear.
Another unexplained symbol has led to speculation about a possible morality or reputation system. However, there is currently insufficient evidence to confirm what the feature actually represents.
The alleged map leak has also attracted attention. Images reportedly show markers for both protagonists, potentially allowing players to see Jason’s location while controlling Lucia. Other alleged locations include racetracks, Jason’s home and a possible military facility or airport.
Because the footage appears to come from a development build, any of these features could still be changed, replaced or removed before the game’s final release.
Rockstar is expected to provide a much clearer picture soon. The company has officially announced an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI for August 27, which is expected to showcase the game through official footage.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
