Pakistan Makes Pakistan Digital Authority Approval Mandatory for AI Hiring

The federal government has introduced a new policy to regulate AI Hiring across all ministries and divisions. The decision aims to ensure proper technical oversight of recruitment related to Artificial Intelligence in public sector departments.

According to the directive issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Pakistan, all processes related to AI Hiring will now require mandatory technical clearance. This includes the creation of posts, recruitment advertisements, and hiring procedures.

The policy applies to all ministries, divisions, and organizations working under federal control. Officials said no recruitment activity related to Artificial Intelligence can proceed without prior approval.

Clearance will be provided by the Pakistan Digital Authority. The authority will review all technical aspects before allowing any hiring process to move forward.

The instructions are based on an official memorandum issued on April 20, 2026. It clearly states that all AI-related recruitment must follow a centralized approval system.

Under the new framework, AI Hiring will be fully monitored to ensure standardization. Ministries must submit all recruitment proposals to the Pakistan Digital Authority for review.

Officials explained that no job advertisement or terms of reference can be issued without approval. This rule applies to all Artificial Intelligence related positions in government departments.

The government said the purpose of the policy is to improve coordination in digital workforce planning. It also aims to ensure that technical standards are maintained across all institutions.

With the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence, demand for skilled professionals is increasing. The government believes structured AI Hiring will help manage this demand effectively.
