Google Reveals Launch Date For Pixel 8 And 8 Pro

Apple made its iPhone launch event announcement two days ago, and shortly after, Google revealed its own event for the upcoming Pixel phones, although it’s scheduled about a month after the iPhone launch.

Interestingly, Google’s announcement came before Apple’s timeline, sparking speculation that it might be a strategic move to counter Apple’s unveiling. Regardless, the official introduction of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro is scheduled for October 4.

Unlike Apple’s traditional event location at Cupertino, California, Google has chosen New York City for its event. Both events are set to begin at 10 AM in the USA.

Google has declared its plan to “reveal the latest additions” to the Pixel device lineup on October 4, hinting at a potential simultaneous launch of the Pixel Watch 2.

Interestingly, and possibly intentionally for the sake of building excitement, Google ‘accidentally’ disclosed its upcoming Pixel 8 Pro smartphone on its online store yesterday. See the official image below.
