Gold prices in Pakistan declined again on Saturday, October 3, following a significant drop in the previous session as international bullion prices also moved lower.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs4,300 per tola, bringing the latest rate to Rs436,336 per tola.
The fresh decline comes as gold prices in the international market also recorded a notable decrease, putting further pressure on local bullion rates.
24-Karat Gold Price Declines
The price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs4,300 per tola on Saturday.
The precious metal is now trading at Rs436,336 per tola, according to the latest rates released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Gold prices had reached a significant high before the recent decline, making the latest movement notable for investors, jewellers and consumers monitoring the local bullion market.
The decline also follows another major drop reported a day earlier, indicating continued volatility in gold prices.
10-Gram Gold Rate Also Falls
The decline was also reflected in the 10-gram gold rate.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs3,687, bringing the new rate to Rs374,087.
Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold declined by Rs3,380 and is now available at Rs342,925.
The movement in different gold categories reflects the broader decline in both domestic and international bullion markets.
International Gold Price Drops
Gold also recorded a decline in the international bullion market.
The international price of gold fell by $43 per ounce, reaching $4,138 per ounce.
Global gold prices are closely watched in Pakistan because international bullion rates, along with currency movements and local market conditions, influence domestic gold prices.
The latest decline in international prices therefore contributed to the downward movement witnessed in Pakistan.
Silver Prices Also Decline
Silver prices followed gold lower in the local market.
The price of 24-karat silver decreased by Rs56 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs6,522 per tola.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of silver fell by Rs48 and settled at Rs5,591.
The decline in both precious metals comes amid a broader downward movement in bullion prices.
Gold Market Remains Volatile
The latest changes highlight the volatility currently being seen in the precious metals market.
Gold had recently climbed to a significant level before recording substantial declines over the following sessions. The latest reduction means consumers and investors are once again seeing noticeable changes in local bullion rates within a short period.
For jewellery buyers, even relatively small changes in the per-tola rate can significantly affect the final cost of an item, particularly when making larger purchases.
Investors also closely monitor international gold prices, currency movements and domestic market trends when assessing the direction of local bullion rates.
