The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast another monsoon spell across several parts of the country, with widespread rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms expected over the coming days. According to the latest weather advisory, moist currents from the Arabian Sea are continuously moving into the upper regions of Pakistan and are likely to intensify from Saturday evening. In addition, a westerly weather system is expected to enter the northern areas, increasing the chances of rainfall in many districts.
Kashmir
Under the latest monsoon forecast, rain accompanied by windstorms and thunderstorms is expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur from the night of July 10 until July 13. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely during this period, with occasional breaks.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms on July 11 and 12. These include Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, North and South Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, and Hangu. Some locations may experience heavy downpours.
Punjab and Islamabad
The monsoon system is also expected to bring scattered rain and thunderstorms to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Faisalabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, and Okara on July 11 and 12. Southern districts, including Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, D.G. Khan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Mianwali, and Noor Pur Thal, are expected to receive rain from the evening of July 11 through July 12.
Gilgit-Baltistan
Rain, thunderstorms, and windstorms are forecast in Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar from the evening of July 11 until July 13, with occasional gaps between weather spells.
Balochistan
Northern and northeastern districts, including Zhob, Sherani, Kohlu, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, and Khuzdar, may receive isolated rain and thunderstorms on July 11 and 12.
Sindh
Most parts of Sindh are likely to remain hot and humid. However, isolated monsoon showers and thunderstorms are expected in Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, and Jacobabad on July 12 and 13.
The weather department has advised the public to stay informed about the latest forecasts, as heavy monsoon rainfall in some areas could lead to localized flooding, reduced visibility, and travel disruptions.
