Federal Police Arrest Suspect in Trail 3 Rape Case

The suspect involved in the Trail 3 rape case in Islamabad has been arrested by the federal police, as confirmed by a police spokesperson. The arrest was made possible through the use of technical means. The Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) has directed for a prompt and thorough investigation to be conducted.

On July 14, the survivor was lured to the capital under the pretext of a job opportunity. However, she was taken to a secluded park on Trail 3, where the suspect raped her at gunpoint. The Kohsar police station registered a First Information Report (FIR) the following day based on the survivor’s complaint.

According to the survivor, the accused, who identified himself as Noman, contacted her through WhatsApp a couple of months ago. He claimed to be an accountant in the education department. The survivor, who had been searching for employment, agreed to come to Islamabad for an interview and paid Rs30,000 to Noman. The remaining Rs20,000 was to be paid after securing the job.

On July 14, they planned to meet for a so-called interview, but instead, the horrific crime occurred. The survivor reported that the attacker was armed and threatened her with severe consequences if she sought help or legal assistance. After the incident, the suspect dropped her back, and she immediately shared her ordeal with a relative, who accompanied her to report the incident to the police.
