Police have arrested a suspected Fake doctor at Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi. The suspect allegedly obtained blood bottles from the hospital blood bank and sold them.
A case was registered after Ward Master Raja Nauman submitted a complaint. The incident reportedly took place during the evening shift at the hospital.
According to the FIR, Nauman was performing his duty when senior lab technician Muhammad Ramzan informed him about the suspect.
The man was identified as Saleh Iftikhar. He allegedly reached the blood bank while wearing a doctor’s uniform.
Hospital staff reportedly stopped him after becoming suspicious of his activities. He had allegedly been prevented earlier from obtaining blood through improper means.
The suspect later returned to the blood bank. Staff members then apprehended him and recovered a mobile phone from his possession.
Despite wearing a doctor’s uniform, the Fake doctor reportedly could not provide proof of being a medical practitioner.
Hospital officials allegedly asked him to provide evidence supporting his claimed profession. However, he was reportedly unable to show any relevant documents.
The FIR alleges that the suspect was fraudulently obtaining blood from the hospital. It further alleges that he was selling the blood after obtaining it from the blood bank.
Police subsequently took the suspect into custody. Authorities also registered a case based on the allegations mentioned in the complaint.
The incident is now under investigation. Police are working to establish how the suspect allegedly obtained blood from the hospital.
Investigators may also examine whether other people were involved in the alleged activity. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
