The Faisalabad Traffic Police has issued new guidance for motorcycle owners regarding number plates. The update explains that citizens will not have to pay a fee for Excise Department number plates.
The traffic authorities shared the information through their official social media platforms. They advised motorcycle owners to prepare their own number plates. However, the plates must follow the specifications set by the Excise Department.
The move aims to help motorcycle owners understand the approved number plate format. It also seeks to reduce the use of plates that do not meet official requirements.
According to the guidelines, motorcycle number plates must be made from white metal. The letters and numbers must be black and clearly visible. They should also be embossed on the plate.
The Excise Department has approved two different plate shapes for motorcycles. Owners can use either a rectangular or square design. Both formats have specific dimensions that must be followed.
The rectangular number plate should measure 205 × 70 millimeters. The square version should measure 200 × 170 millimeters.
The guidelines also include specific requirements for the plate margins. A margin of 10 millimeters must be maintained on the sides. The same margin applies to the top and bottom.
Character sizes also differ between the two approved formats. Characters on rectangular plates should have a height of 30 to 35 millimeters.
For square plates, the character height should be between 45 and 50 millimeters. Motorcycle owners have been asked to follow these measurements carefully.
The Faisalabad Traffic Police has advised citizens to avoid using non-standard number plates. Owners should ensure their plates match the prescribed format before using them on roads.
The authorities have also reminded motorcycle owners about the importance of following traffic laws. Proper number plates can help authorities identify vehicles more easily.
The latest guidance provides motorcycle owners with clear specifications for preparing their plates. It also confirms that no separate fee will be charged for the Excise Department number plate format.
The Faisalabad Traffic Police has urged citizens to cooperate with traffic authorities. Motorcycle owners should follow the approved specifications and drive responsibly.
