In response to the fire outbreak at Arshi shopping mall near Ayesha Manzil in Karachi, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has declared an emergency for hydrants citywide.

Firefighting personnel are actively working to control the blaze, with tenders received from hydrants across the city due to the severity of the fire.

Mayor Wahab has initiated measures for a fire audit of commercial buildings in the metropolis, forming a committee comprising KMC officials.

The incident, which began in foam shops and spread to residential flats, prompted a rescue operation led by SSP Central Faisal Abdullah. The operation involves the deployment of a Snorkel and a Bowser to evacuate individuals trapped in the affected residential building.

Police officials note that the shopping mall primarily houses foam shops, intensifying the fire’s progression. A resident expressed gratitude for the cooperation of people during the evacuation, emphasizing the importance of saving their flat.
