DSP And 14 Others Killed In Mastung Blast

“In Mastung on Friday, a powerful explosion occurred near a mosque, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 15 lives, including that of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and leaving over two dozen individuals injured.

Preliminary reports indicate that the blast occurred in close proximity to the revered Medina Masjid, where an Eid Miladun Nabi procession was scheduled to take place later.

Mastung Assistant Commissioner Attaul Munim reported that the explosion, seemingly of significant intensity, happened near Madina Mosque, and a procession was planned for the area.

The district administration has confirmed the unfortunate demise of DSP Nawaz Gashkori from Mastung among the victims. Additionally, several of the injured individuals are in critical condition.

Station House Officer (SHO) Javed Lehri noted that the injured are being promptly transferred to medical facilities, with hospitals declaring a state of emergency.

Earlier this month, the same district experienced an explosion resulting in injuries to at least 11 people, including JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah.”
