DI Khan Attack: 23 Soldiers Martyred As ISPR Issues Official Statement

During the night of December 11th to 12th, 2023, Dera Ismail Khan District experienced increased activities, culminating in a total of twenty-seven terrorists meeting their demise in various operations.

An intelligence-driven operation took place in the Darazinda area based on reported terrorist presence. The operation successfully uncovered a terrorist hideout, leading to the elimination of seventeen terrorists.

In a separate intelligence-driven operation in the Kulachi area, our troops effectively engaged a terrorist location, resulting in the demise of four terrorists.

However, after a fierce exchange of fire, two valiant individuals, who fought courageously, embraced martyrdom.

The deceased terrorists were actively involved in numerous activities against security forces and the killing of innocent civilians. The operations also yielded the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.

The Attack

In the early hours of December 12, 2023, a group of six terrorists launched an attack on a security forces’ post in the Daraban area. The attempt to breach the post was effectively thwarted, prompting the terrorists to resort to ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the post, followed by a suicide bombing attack.

The resulting explosions led to the collapse of the building, resulting in multiple casualties. Twenty-three brave soldiers embraced martyrdom, while all six terrorists were effectively neutralized.

Sanitization operations are currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country, and the sacrifices of our courageous soldiers only serve to strengthen this commitment.
