The City Traffic Police have prepared a traffic management plan ahead of the Peshawar Road remodeling project. Construction work is scheduled to formally begin on Tuesday.
More than 250 traffic personnel will be deployed during the project. The staff will work in three shifts to manage traffic throughout the construction period.
Additional traffic officers will also be stationed along alternate routes. Their deployment is aimed at keeping traffic moving and reducing congestion caused by the construction work.
Under the new traffic plan, motorists travelling from Saddar towards Peshawar Road will use Abid Majeed Road. They will then proceed through Sher Khan Chowk.
Drivers travelling from Range Road towards Saddar and 22 Number will also face a changed route. They will use Sher Khan Chowk and Khattak Chowk to reach their destinations.
Traffic travelling from Peshawar Road towards Saddar will be diverted during construction hours. Motorists will be required to follow an alternate route to avoid the main construction area.
The designated route will pass through Allahabad Turn and Haali Road. Drivers will then use the service road located opposite Rafay Mall.
The traffic police will also establish diversion points at different locations along Peshawar Road. These points will help redirect vehicles as construction activities move from one section to another.
Officials are expected to monitor traffic conditions throughout the project. Traffic personnel will be deployed at key points to guide motorists and manage bottlenecks.
