Students Get New Driving Facilities Under Punjab’s E-Bike Plan

The Lahore Traffic Police has set up five driving training schools for students under the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme. The initiative will help students learn safe riding skills and obtain driving licenses.

The new facilities aim to make the electric bike program safer and more accessible for students. They will provide training and licensing support at several locations across Lahore.

According to the announcement, the training centers have been established at five different locations. These include Abshar Driving School, Liberty Khidmat Markaz, Greater Iqbal Park, Traffic Police Lines Manawan, and LOS Ferozepur Road.

Students participating in the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme can use these facilities to receive driving training. The initiative is designed to encourage responsible riding among young electric bike users.

The training program is linked to the Punjab government’s wider electric bike initiative. The scheme aims to help students access affordable transportation for their educational needs.

CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme Details

Under the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme, the Punjab government plans to provide 100,000 electric bikes to students across the province. The program is intended to support students with affordable and environmentally friendly transport.

The listed price of an electric bike under the scheme is PKR 199,000. However, students will pay PKR 109,000 as their share of the cost.

Students can pay their amount through a 36-month installment plan. The monthly installment has been set at PKR 3,028.

The Punjab government will also cover several additional costs under the scheme. These include insurance, mark-up, and registration expenses.

More than 33,000 public and private educational institutions are eligible to participate in the program. This expands the potential reach of the initiative among students across Punjab.

Eligible students can submit their applications through the official scheme portal. The application process is available online through bikes.punjab.gov.pk.
