Captain Safdar Announces Nawaz Sharif's Candidacy In NA-15

PML-N leader Captain (retd) Safdar Awan announced that Nawaz Sharif will contest the upcoming elections from NA-15 Mansehra. This decision follows legal reprieve for the former prime minister, with his convictions in cases like Avenfield and Al-Azizia suspended. As the general elections approach, Captain Safdar stated that Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers would be submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on December 21.

Expressing confidence in Nawaz Sharif’s victory, Captain Safdar highlighted NA-15 as a PML-N stronghold. He stated that, if successful, Sharif would address issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, serving as prime minister for the fourth time. Safdar clarified that he would not participate in the elections, and instead, Maryam Nawaz would contest both national and provincial seats in Punjab.
