A miscellaneous application has been filed in the Islamabad High Court seeking an early hearing in the £190 million case involving Bushra Bibi. The request urges the court to decide the appeal for suspension of sentence on urgent basis.
The application states that Bushra Bibi requires immediate medical attention after undergoing eye surgery. It claims that her condition needs post-operative care without delay.
The petition asks the court to prioritize the case and decide it on merit. It also requests the summoning of the jail superintendent and medical authorities for review.
The head of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital has also been named in the application. The court has been requested to obtain complete medical records related to Bushra Bibi.
According to the petition, she should be shifted immediately to Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital in Rawalpindi. It argues that proper supervision is necessary after her surgery.
The application further alleges that the procedure was carried out without informing her legal counsel or family members. It raises concerns about transparency in the process.
It is also stated that Bushra Bibi’s daughters only learned about the surgery during a jail meeting. This has raised questions about communication from prison authorities.
The petition claims she has been kept in solitary confinement after the operation. It also alleges that she is not receiving proper medical care or nursing support inside the jail.
In addition, the application states that jail authorities did not comply with a court order dated April 7, 2026. It claims her lawyer was not allowed to meet her despite the directive.
The petition also highlights that a hearing scheduled for April 23 was cancelled due to a security lockdown. This caused further delays in the case proceedings.
The applicant has urged the court to intervene immediately. It requests timely medical treatment and an expedited hearing of Bushra Bibi’s appeal for suspension of sentence.
