BISP Deadline: SIM & Digital Wallet Activation from June 15th to 30th

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued an important update for eligible women under the Benazir Kafalat Programme, announcing a shift in the payment system toward digital wallet-based transfers.

According to the announcement, under the guidance of the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a cashless economy, future installment payments will be disbursed through digital wallet accounts linked to a dedicated mobile SIM.

Officials stated that beneficiaries will need to obtain a free “BISP mobile SIM” to activate their digital wallet. The deadline for acquiring the SIM has been extended until June 30, allowing more eligible women time to complete the registration process.

Women who have not yet received the SIM have been advised to visit their nearest BISP office with their original CNIC and personal mobile phone before the deadline. After receiving the SIM, the digital wallet will be activated within a few days through designated banking agents.

For those who have already obtained the SIM but have not activated their digital wallet, authorities have urged immediate activation through nearby bank retailers. Once activated, beneficiaries will be able to receive payments directly into their mobile wallet accounts and withdraw funds through authorized banking representatives.

The programme aims to reduce long queues, improve transparency, and make financial assistance more accessible. Officials say the transition is part of a broader effort to modernize welfare payments and empower women economically through digital financial inclusion.

Authorities emphasized that beneficiaries who complete activation will no longer need to wait in physical lines, as payments will be accessible directly through their mobile wallets from participating banking networks.
