During a press briefing at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, national cricket team captain Babar Azam underscored the team’s unwavering focus on the forthcoming World Cup, pledging a stellar performance at the prestigious tournament.

Addressing reporters, Babar detailed the team’s preparations for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, alongside the T20 World Cup. He emphasized the players’ dedication to delivering their best on the field with the ultimate aim of clinching victory in the tournament.

Babar reiterated the team’s singular focus on the World Cup, recalling their past commitment to securing the coveted trophy. He stressed the importance of player fitness during the tours, particularly highlighting the return of Haris Rauf to the squad and expressing hopes for his exceptional performance.

Regarding the exclusion of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris from the T20 World Cup 2024 squad, Babar provided clarification. He disclosed that Haris was not included due to the wealth of options available in the top order. Haris was omitted from Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, as well as the World Cup scheduled to commence on June 1 in the United States and West Indies.
