In a devastating turn of events at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, Pakistan has been hit hard as Arshad Nadeem had to withdraw from the competition due to injury. The renowned javelin thrower, who was expected to compete tomorrow, had been a beacon of hope for Pakistan’s medal aspirations, but those dreams have now been shattered.

The cause of this unexpected setback has been identified as a knee injury, which came to light through an MRI scan conducted in a local hospital in Hangzhou. Shockingly, it was revealed that Arshad Nadeem had been carrying this chronic injury for some time, unbeknownst to many.

Notably, just recently, the 25-year-old athlete had made the nation proud by securing a silver medal in the World Athletics Championship held in Hungary, where he clinched the second position. During his recovery phase, Arshad Nadeem underwent elbow surgery and received rehabilitation at the PSB Coaching Centre. He eventually made a triumphant return to javelin throwing, even participating in the World Athletics Championship. However, the untimely revelation of this knee injury has now disrupted his journey and dealt a heavy blow to Pakistan’s hopes in the Asian Games 2023.
