Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced 60 vacancies on regular and contract basis at its Main Campus in Islamabad and regional centers across Pakistan. The university is inviting applications for positions ranging from BPS-02 to BPS-20.
The latest recruitment drive includes administrative, academic support, technical, driving and field positions. Interested candidates can apply online, with October 16, 2026 set as the last date for applications.
AIOU has announced 22 vacancies at its Main Campus in Islamabad. These positions include Assistant Director Regional Services in BPS-17, Research Assistant in BPS-16, Data Entry Operator in BPS-14 and Staff Car Driver to the Vice Chancellor in BPS-11.
The Main Campus vacancies also include one Driver position in BPS-09, three Driver positions in BPS-05 and eight Naib Qasid positions in BPS-02.
Another 38 vacancies have been announced at AIOU regional centers. These include one Regional Director position in BPS-20, three Additional Regional Director positions in BPS-19, two Deputy Regional Director positions in BPS-18 and four Assistant Regional Director positions in BPS-17.
The regional centers also have seven Assistant positions in BPS-15, eight Driver positions in BPS-05, nine Naib Qasid positions in BPS-02 and four Mali positions in BPS-02.
AIOU has prescribed different qualification and experience requirements for each position. Candidates applying for senior regional posts generally need a second-class master’s degree or an equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized university, along with the required professional, administrative or research experience.
Applicants for the Regional Director position are required to have 17 years of professional, research or administrative experience in Grade 17 or above, along with other requirements listed in the advertisement.
Candidates applying for Additional Regional Director positions require 12 years of relevant experience, while Deputy Regional Director applicants need five years of relevant experience in BPS-17 or above.
For Assistant Regional Director positions, candidates must have the relevant master’s degree and meet the experience requirements specified for the post. Assistant positions in BPS-15 require a second-class bachelor’s degree, a typing speed of 30 words per minute and basic IT training.
Candidates applying for driving positions must meet the prescribed educational requirements and hold a valid HTV or PSV driving licence, along with relevant driving experience.
Applicants interested in the vacancies can submit their applications through the AIOU Jobs Portal. Candidates are required to complete the online application form, provide accurate information, upload the necessary documents and pay the applicable processing fee.
After submitting the online application, candidates must print and sign the completed form and submit it along with the required documents and proof of payment according to the instructions in the official advertisement.
Applicants should carefully review the eligibility requirements before applying. Applications containing incomplete or incorrect information, or those that do not meet the advertised conditions, may be rejected.
Candidates should complete the application process before the October 16 deadline to be considered for the announced AIOU positions.
